I always shop Acme for sales. Some pretty good ones bring me to the store. Staff here is always helpful and friendly. It pays to know competitors pricing.

I haven't been to an Acme in ages and I was pleasantly surprised. The store was very clean and everything was easy to find. The deli person was great and my order was quick. The prices were a little high but there were some good sales. Checking out was easy too. The cashier was nice and I didn't need to use my ancient Acme card. You don't need a card to get the sale price unlike other supermarkets.
UPDATE: The pumpkins I bought for my nephew rotted less than a week after I bought them on this visit. They were not carved... just sitting. Extremely disappointed for $6.00+ dollar pumpkins.
Acme in general needs to bring those prices down a bit. Now to my experience. Was in there with my Mother on Thanksgiving so she could cash out some coins at the coinstar. She waited patiently at the Customer service desk while they had only one guy working the desk. The clerk is normally very polite but was very cranky and was visibly angry with the short phone call that came in while we were waiting. How about Acme puts more people at the registers and the desk. Maybe the employee's that normally do a great job wouldn't get overwhelmed and cranky.
Produce at Mt. Holly location is almost always crappy. I always forget until I drive to this location. Fruit flies in the potatoes and bags of onions. Loose onions and garlic are soft and mildewy. Peppers not fresh. Definitely don't come here if you need fresh ingredients to cook with. Even the store packaged meat looks a little sketchy.
